Doug
Dammrose, M.D., came to Blue Cross of Idaho Health Service,
Inc. in May of 1996 as the associate medical director under
Don Price, MD In 1998, at the retirement of Dr. Price, Dr.
Dammrose assumed the position of corporate medical director
and was named senior vice president. Dr. Dammrose, an Idaho
native, is board-certified in internal medicine and practiced
fifteen years in Caldwell. In addition to a broad range
of clinical experiences, he actively participated in quality
improvement activities at both the local and state levels.
He is a past chairman of the Carrier Advisory Committee
and assistant clinical coordinator for Pro-West, a peer
review organization. His interests focus on the delivery
of high quality, affordable health care through the use
of evidence-based medicine.
Doug
is a member of the Idaho Medical Association, the American
Medical Association, the American College of Physicians
and Alpha Omega Alpha. He is active in the Presbyterian
Church and enjoys playing blues and gospel harmonica. He
is an avid cross-country and telemark skier and enjoys running
and hiking.
Doug
received his bachelor of science degree from Washington
State University in Zoology, a DDS from the University of
Washington, and his M.D. from the University of New Mexico
School of Medicine and completed his residency in internal
medicine at the University of Washington.
