The Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health, Inc. is a non-profit charitable foundation established in 2001 by Blue Cross of Idaho. The creation of the Foundation stemmed from the desire to positively impact the health of all Idahoans through wellness and prevention programs.
The Foundation promotes and encourages the health of all Idahoans through collaborative partnerships, health programs, and community giving.
The Foundation is actively committed to addressing the health needs of Idahoans and promoting a healthier Idaho.
The Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health is an independent licensee of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association and serves the state of Idaho. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization.
Currently, the Foundation has three initiative areas:
- Initiative 1 – Childhood Obesity Prevention: The Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation is dedicated to reversing the trend of childhood obesity in Idaho. The Foundation coordinates programs, develops partnerships, and funds grants for innovative programs that promote healthy eating and physical activity among Idaho children.
- Initiative 2 – Access to Care: The Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation is working to improve access to medical care in Idaho. The Foundation has formed partnerships and provided funding to increase access to care throughout Idaho.
- Initiative 3 – Community Events and Giving: The Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation also gives back to Idaho communities by providing support to programs and events that promote health and wellness throughout Idaho.
