The Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health awarded Employee Community Fund grants to six Idaho organizations for programs and projects that address mental health and behavioral health, which have a significant impact on the physical health of the state.

The organizations (and their locations) that received grants are:

  • The Crisis Hotline (Bellevue)
  • Children’s Home Society of Idaho (Boise)
  • Glenns Ferry Health Center (Glenns Ferry)
  • Mental Health Coalition of Teton Valley (Driggs)
  • Upriver Youth Leadership Council (Kamiah)
  • Willow Center (Lewiston)

The Employee Community Fund is a grant program offered by the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health that is funded by the generosity of Blue Cross of Idaho employees.

Each year, Blue Cross of Idaho has an employee giving campaign. All donations made to the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health are placed in the Employee Community Fund.

In 2025, employees selected access to mental health and behavioral health services as the focus area for the Employee Community Fund, and the Foundation solicited grant applications that were focused on these areas.

A committee of Blue Cross of Idaho employees reviewed the grant applications and selected the organizations that received funding.

Each organization received a $5,000 grant.

“We are grateful to the Blue Cross of Idaho employees who generously donated to the Employee Community Fund. This grant program helps the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health support meaningful work around mental health and behavioral health in Idaho. All counties in Idaho suffer from a shortage of mental health and behavioral health providers. The programs, projects ,and services that are happening because of these Employee Community Fund grants are helping build a healthier Idaho,” Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health Executive Director Courtney Frost said.
