A Funding Opportunity
Employee Community Fund grants are funded and selected by Blue Cross of Idaho employees. The company has an annual employee giving campaign that offers employees a chance to donate to nonprofit organizations. Any funds designated to the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health are earmarked for the Employee Community Fund and given back to the state through a grant program. This year, at the request of the employees, the Employee Community Fund will be dedicated to accessing behavioral health and mental health services.

WHAT IS THE EMPLOYEE COMMUNITY FUND?
Blue Cross of Idaho has an annual employee giving campaign that encourages employees to donate to nonprofit organizations. Any funds designated by employees to the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health are earmarked for the Employee Community Fund. Each year, a call for grant proposals will be issued and funded by the donations from the giving campaign.
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
Idaho nonprofit organizations with an interest in increasing access to behavioral health and mental health services.
WHAT ARE THE FUNDING PRIORITIES FOR THE EMPLOYEE COMMUNITY FUND?
Priority will be given to applications that:
- Provide behavioral healthcare
- Provide mental healthcare
- Support capital and material expenditures for expansion
- Promote growth opportunities for programs and services
WHAT TARGET POPULATIONS ARE WE HOPING TO REACH?
Priority will be given to grant applications whose goal is to reach seniors, youth, and underserved and underrepresented populations.
WHEN IS THE APPLICATION DEADLINE?
The application period will run from May 4 through 5 p.m. MDT, June 12, 2026.
WHAT IS THE VALUE OF THE GRANT?
Up to $5,000.
HOW ARE WINNERS SELECTED?
All applications that meet the criteria above will be reviewed and scored by a committee comprised of Blue Cross of Idaho employees. The selected applications must be approved the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health Board of Directors.
ARE EMPLOYEE COMMUNITY FUND GRANTS RENEWABLE?
No. If an organization received an Employee Community Fund grant in 2025, it will not be eligible for the 2026 grant cycle. Organizations that are selected in 2026 will not be eligible for 2027.
